"English Gardens - Texas Style" |
|
These gardens are one of the most fascinating and unique sites in Texas. As you stroll the grounds it's easy to loose all sense of exactly where you are. Italian grottos, English-style perennial borders, rippling waterfalls, tons and tons of mortar and stonewalls will tend to confuse the mind. And not to mention a gently swinging cable bridge spanning a meandering creek leading over to a land-locked ship built out of stone. These wonderful gardens are in Fort Worth, Texas. This modern day project is the restoration and renewal of the historic Leon Bandy Estate originally built in the 1930's and 1940's. Come out and enjoy the historical grounds and appreciate the revitalization of the gardens. Our project is one of redesigning and replanting using native Texas flora and highly-acclimated plants. Our goal is to preserve the historical, yet add new gardens and architectural elements that are relevant to today's gardener. Foremost, we want to demonstrate low-maintenance, yet beautiful, settings that can be achieved by each and every gardener. |
