Gardening Calendar ~ Winter (December to February)

Plant:

·          Roses ~ Plant roses now. All our roses are container grown and can be planted year round, but Winter is a great time to plant.

Prune:

·          Selectively prune trees, shrubs and roses

   - Prune trees in the period December 15 to February 1

   - Complete heavier pruning of shrubs and roses in Mid February (don’t prune too early
or new growth  may be killed by hard freezes.

·          Prune perennials, removing unsightly chaff and brown stems as late as possible. Early pruning may stimulate new growth, which will be killed by hard freezes.
