Flowers (pale yellow) and seeds are held well above the foliage and are very attractive. Avens needs well drained soil and will survive on natural rainfall. It will sometimes to dormant in a very hot, dry summer but will reappear in the fall rewarding us with a lush green in the depth of winter.
