Small, double, creamy white blooms have a violet scent. Glossy, attractive foliage and nearly thornless canes make for an attractive plant even when not in bloom. 'Fortuniana' thrives in any soil; even poor, dry, sandy soil. This rose is very easy to grow and is very resistant to disease. An apparent natural cross of 'Lady Banks' and 'Cherokee', it bears the name of plant hunter, Robert Fortune, as he discovered it blooming in a Shanghai garden in China in 1845.
