Large, deep crimson fragrant blooms turn deep purple. Flowers open flat and then reflex back to form a pompon. They are produced in large, open clusters. Large green foliage and tough, needle-like thorns. Needs heavy feeding and maintenance for maximum benefit. Great for a small garden or in a container. This rose is named after the rightful duke of Milan in Shakespeare's 'The Tempest', who was deposed by his brother and the king of Naples and cast adrift at sea along with his daughter, Miranda. They eventually land on a mysterious island, and Prospero becomes a student and scholar of the magic arts.
